hit and tried chole

The night before janmashtmi, my family and I were deciding the menu for the next day since it was a holiday. My mother in law suggested chole puri. Now, I have been reading a few food blogs and I did come across the recipe of chole more than once. So, I volunteered to make them the next day for the family. I had never made chole before this in my life.

I had taken a hint from the food blogs but did not take any notes thinking I will remember it all. After all how difficult can it be for someone to make chole...right? But when I woke up the next morning I could not recall all the ingredients.

zoya the explorer

BANG! BANG! BANG!

zoya opened her eyes while still laying in bed. she stared at the damp ceiling for a few seconds to come back to her senses from the deep silent peaceful slumber. the moment she reconciled her thoughts she heard the door bang again.

my most beautiful woman

i look fat. i have a crooked nose. my thighs are so big. my lips are huge. this post will not be enough when it comes to counting peripheral imperfections. but then the question is: who is perfect? and the answer: none of us. no matter how pretty the world thinks we are, we will still find an imperfection in ourselves.

the point here is that we will never be satisfied with how we look. it is very important for us to understand the difference between looks and personality. you might come across as the best person in the room even though you might not be the most beautiful one in there. external beauty is secondary, the real beauty lies in what you do. the real charm is reflected through your deeds, through your work and kind of person you are at heart.

to the killers

when a girl gets hitched specially in an arranged set up she is quite apprehensive not just about the new family but also about the new social circle she will have (read: husband's friends). so was i. but all my doubts vanished in thin air immediately after i got fixed.

for starters my husband did an amazing thing to get the ice broken between me and his friends. his friends were on my BBM list even before i had met them. after we got engaged and the marriage was announced officially his group of friends organized a dinner specially to welcome me into the group. now, the group has a name; they call themselves " the killers".

creating happy travellers

a holiday or a vacation to me is not just about the place you visit. it is an overall experience that starts from planning the trip (deciding the dates, choosing the destination, the mode of transport and the accommodation) continues through the journey you make, carries on while enjoying quality time with the loved ones and ends finally once you reach back home. when i read about the "creating happy travellers" contest on indiblogger, i knew just the right place on this planet to create that sort of an experience;dehradun.

teapot love

if someone asks me what i like more; tea or coffee? without lying i would say both. i have always loved going out for a cup of either of the two beverages. not that i mind having that cup at home. but going out to a place with a different ambiance specifically for this purpose can bring up the best discussions which otherwise would not happen at home.

me and my mom have been doing this for a long time now. we go out, order ourselves tea/coffee with some cake and sip onto it chatting and talking about various topics, some useful and some plain nonsensical(i have got the gift of gab from her :p). and post marriage everytime i visit her it gives us all the more reason to go out, catch up and have a good time. sometimes, it is a cafe as basic as costa coffee or dunkin donuts and at other times it is a place like goodricke teapot. this post revolves around the latter.

maika visit

last time i visited my parents' place (maika) my husband promised them a date i would come home next. my parents could not have been happier. and i would say the same for my husband (giggling). he loves those few days when i am away and he can behave like a bachelor again. anyways this post is not about my husband feeling elated when i am away but the time i have spent at my parents place last week.
